About Us – Dr. Azzola & Dr. Kusnierczyk

Dr. Ed Azzola, OD

Dr. Azzola was born and raised in Sudbury. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo where he was also a member of the Waterloo Warrior Varsity Hockey team for 5 years, serving as team captain in his final year.

Dr. Azzola retains his passion for sports having coached in the SMHA, Coniston Minor Hockey, as well as serving on the executive of the Sudbury Laurentian Swim Club. Most recently, he was a founding member of the executive for the Sudbury Gladiators Football Club, and served as President of the Ontario Football Conference Varsity Football League for 2 years. He enjoys golf, kayaking, recreational hockey, as well as regular training in the gym.

Professionally, Dr. Azzola enjoys staying current with advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and vision problems. He speaks English, French and Italian.

Dr. Tony Kusneirczyk, OD

Dr. Kusnierczyk was born and raised in Sudbury.  He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Doctor of Optometry degree.  He furthered his education in the USA and completed an ocular health and externship at the University of Oklahoma. This certifies him to prescribe medications to treat various eye diseases. Dr. Kusnierczyk is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Association of Optometrists. He has done volunteer eye mission work in Mexico. He is a part-time faculty member of the Northeastern Ontario School of Medicine.

He enjoys spending time with his family. He has volunteered as a past board member of the Sudbury Theatre Centre and Sudbury District Girls Hockey Association. He volunteers his time assisting the coaches for both his daughters’ respective hockey teams. Dr. Kusnierczyk gladly provides quality bilingual eye care service to his current patients and also looks forward to serving all new patients to his office.
